This stunning milk glass Apostle Pitcher
was designed and registered March 17, 1842 by Charles Meigh. (protecting this design and his work from being copied)
Beginning at the handle, the protrusion is molded with what appears to be the face of God the Father overlooking the pitcher and its contents. Sloped spout is nicely detailed , and the base of the pitcher's body is comprised entirely of panels of Roman Catholic religious icons, detailed well enough to make each out: the Infant of Prague, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Francis, St. Joseph, Sacred Heart of Jesus, the apostle Paul, and St. Joseph with the baby Jesus. There are decorative panels with crosses below the icons.
This beautiful pitcher is in antique and preloved condition, and is in excellent condition it has no crack or chips, but one crazing spot is present as shown in the photos.
There are plenty of replicas of this design, but we pride ourselves on carrying one of the original, authentic pieces from the artists set.
