1950's Hiroshige Ando Woodblock Print Satta Peak Yui, One of the 53 Stations #17 by Uchida Art Company / Japanese / Mount Fuji / Fujisawa

$189.99

Beautiful midcentury woodblock print of Hiroshige Ando's "Yui", by Uchida Art Company. It is framed and matted in a custom 3 panel vertical wood frame, and comes with the piece's identification card, as well as UAC's statement on the history of woodblock printing as a tradition.

There is some yellowing to some small areas of the print, and quite a bit of it on the information cards, but the print is in overall great condition and the colors are still very vibrant! Some wrinkling has occurred, but no rips or tears are present. We think the flaws give this piece an extraordinary amount of character!

Yui Town, Shizuoka Preference

*HISTORY*
Near the beach at Yui is a precipitous hill which Tokaido travelers
have to negotiate. They cannot go around it. However, when they stand
on the top of the hill, they are amply rewarded by a fine view. Before them
spreads a lake and in the distance stands Mt Fuji. This is one of the most
scenic spots on the Tokaido Highway.
