Of all the variations of this Limoges design, this is by far one of the most detailed and carefully painted pieces.
Adorned with gold leaf paint, the champagne bottle's intricate black label and neck "wrapping" were clearly executed by the steadiest of hands. The ice bucket is silver plated with no tarnishing, and the brass grape-shaped enclosure is still very sturdy. Upon opening the bucket you'll find a tiny silver and gold leaf dagger painted inside!
This treasure was very well preserved over the years, and the hardware is still very sturdy. There are absolutely no paint chips, fading, or damage at all. On the under side of the bucket you will find the clear maker's mark, "A.L. Limoges France Peint main", certifying that it is in fact hand painted, and identifying its origin.
Truly a breathtaking treasure and is a vital piece to any Limoges collector. Makes a wonderful graduation or wedding gift!
