1950's Gilded Ceramic Planter of a Colonial Boy Playing Flute / English Boy / Midcentury / Pink Roses / Plant Addict / Wedding Gift / MCM

Sorry, this item has sold.

Rare Japanese-made gilded ceramic planter in the form of a Colonial boy playing his flute. The boy wears a highly detailed, rich blue petticoat with a plethora of frills adorned with gold. He also dons sea foam green pantaloons, and sits handsomely against a "wicker" bucket adorned with gilded pink roses and frills.

This absolutely adorable planter is in stunning vintage condition with no cracks, crazing, fading, or scrapes. It does appear to be hand-painted, so some color smears from production may be present.

Perfect for housing your favorite succulents, herbs, and cacti, or for keeping your candies and trinkets. Some even use them as cute salt cellars in their kitchen!
